Mike is the founding Managing Director of Impact Minerals Limited (ASX: IPT), which he led to a successful listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2006. Under his leadership, the company has advanced towards production at the Lake Hope High Purity Alumina Project while also exploring and developing its extensive tenement holdings.
Over the years, he has played a key role in securing over $65 million in funding, steering Impact through major industry challenges, including the Global Financial Crisis, the Fukushima nuclear disaster, a prolonged mining downturn, and the COVID-19 pandemic. His ability to identify strategic opportunities led to the acquisition of an 80% stake in a globally unique High Purity Alumina deposit in Western Australia, setting the stage for Impact’s transition into production.
A strong advocate for innovation and professional development, Mike has cultivated a dynamic learning environment at Impact, mentoring geologists who have gone on to leadership roles in both ASX-listed companies and major global mining firms.
In addition to his role at Impact, he is the Chairman of two long-standing family businesses, overseeing operations that employ around 15 people.
