Eugenia Phegan

Eugenia Phegan has a strong background in innovation with nearly 20 years’ experience. She currently works at CPC Engineering as Process Manager where she leads a team of process engineers in feasibility studies and process design.

Eugenia spent 15 years in the alumina industry as a process engineer in operations and global procurement.

For the last decade she has been working in pyrolysis and gasification, which received a $1 million Brazilian government grant for urea production from biomass.

For the last five years, she has independently developed technologies for purifying metals like rare earths, high purity alumina, and manganese sulphate.

Last year, Eugenia led a $3 million CRC-P grant funded by the Australian Federal Government. This collaborative project between CPC Engineering, Edith Cowan University, and Impact Minerals is developing a sustainable high purity alumina pilot plant with zero liquid discharge.

Eugenia is completing her MBA in Finance and Controllership and is also pursuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering.

Her varied experience in biomass, operations, projects, and securing government funding provides a valuable perspective on innovation policy.
