Caroline Tiddy is a Professor in Geosciences in the Future Industries Institute at Adelaide University. She is Chief Scientific Officer of MinEx CRC and was formerly Coordinator of the MinEx CRC Education & Training Program (2018-2025). Caroline is a Board Director of AuScope, which provides research infrastructure to Australia’s geoscience community. She is a Superstar of STEM Alumni (2023-2024), winner of the Women in Innovation Maths and Data Award (2023), and recipient of the Geological Society of Australia Garry Davidson medal (2021) for her contributions to applied geochemistry and Nell Ludbrook Medal (2026) for championing inclusive culture within the Earth sciences community.
Caroline’s research is dedicated to making the way we look for mineral deposits more environmentally friendly, and to ensuring we have adequate supply of the metals required to build renewable technologies that will address the issue of climate change. Caroline is a strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in STEM, and has an active research program looking at the enablers and barriers of women to reach senior positions within academia, government and industry in geosciences.
